Rick is a 1983 graduate of Texas Christian University with a BBA. He has been a licensed Real Estate Broker with W.L. Bates Company, Inc. since 1984. In 1987, he was elected Chairman of the Commercial Services Division of the corpus Christi Board of Realtors. In 1991, he was admitted to the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (S.I.O.R.) with an industrial designation. He also completed Leadership Corpus Christi in 1993. In 2014, Rick was awarded the Commercial Real Estate Agent of the Year by the San Patricio County Economic Development Corporation and, in November of 2016 he was elected to the San Patricio County Groundwater conservation district in an At-Large seat.

Specializing in heavy industrial properties, Rick has brokered the majority of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel properties that have sold in the last 25 years. In 2009, he was contracted by the Port of Corpus Christi as their Real Estate Consultant on the re-development of Naval Station Ingleside; presently, he continues to provide outside real estate consulting for the Port. He also represents Flint Hills Resources L.P. since 1987 as their agent for the acquisition of buffer zone property in the Corpus Christi Industrial Area.

Maria is originally from La Paz, Bolivia and a graduate of the Universidad Mayor de San Simon. She joined W.L. Bates Company in 1996 as their Business Manager and, in 2005 she obtained her Real Estate license. She has been directly involved in the property management of Flint Hills Resources' corporate homes and industrial leases. She has been actively working in the marketing of industrial and commercial sectors of Corpus Christi and its surrounding areas, as well as assisting private investors in the purchase of farm and ranch property.

In 2011, Maria represented Haidar Investments on the purchase of land to build the I-Hop Restaurant in Portland, Texas.

In addition, Maria is responsible for the preparation of brochures and marketing information for the company, as well as the management of the company's website.
